The Rajput Mughal Revival section curated by Rahul Jain, Mitchell Abdul Karim Crites & Amitra Sudan Saha, was an extraordinary gathering of contemporary ustads, master artists and artisans, who carry on the royal art and craft traditions of the kingdoms of Rajputana, the Land of Kings, and the legendary artistry of the Mughal courts of Fatehpur Sikri, Delhi and Agra.
Rahul Jain: Rahul Jain is a textile designer and historian who lives and works in New Delhi. He runs ASHA, a workshop of traditional Indian drawlooms in Varanasi, which weaves silk samite, lampas, and velvet textiles modeled on historical Indian, Iranian, and Ottoman silks. A Jameel Prize 3 nominee, he received the Padma Shri from the Government of India in 2015.
Mitchell Abdul Karim Crites: Mitchell Abdul Karim Crites, an American art historian, has lived and worked in India for the last fifty years. His primary focus has been the revival of traditional Indian and Islamic arts and crafts. His carving and inlay workshops are located in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
